BATTERIES
Some minerals in batteries include cadmium, lead, and silver.  These minerals are used to help pass energy through the battery.

CHALK

Chalk is a form of limestone collected from the mineral calcite. It is used to make chalk because when it is pressed against a hard surface, it leaves a powdery residue.

LIGHT BULB

Light bulbs are made with a mineral called tungsten. Tungsten has the highest melting point of all minerals, so it can easily withstand the heat of a light bulb.

WIRES

Wires are usually made with copper. Copper has been used in electric wiring since the 1820s. Copper is a good electrical conducter.

KITTY LITTER

Many different minerals can be used in kitty litter. Zeolite is one of the minerals in kitty litter because of its absorbant property.
